Welcome Back!
This semester we will be exploring what it means to be free, the soul vs. society, and man's struggle with nature.
You will learn about the Transendentalists, a 19th century philisophical movement relating to these ideologies, as well as the basic skills necessary in creating viable research and writing convincing arguments.
UNIT ONE:
In Unit one we will research the themes present in the novel "Into the Wild," as well as the elements present in the author's life that would drive him to write such a book.
We will also explore the tools authors use to add beauty to their works, draw the readers in, and create imagery that readers can use to relate the works to their own lives.
